Becoming a RTM Co-op Member
The RTM Co-op is made up of musicians, singer-songwriters, performers, visual artists, promoters, and techies (or anything we may have left out of this list!).
Benefits of becoming part of the "Company" (Co-op Member):
you will have an active hand in putting together RTM Shows & Events.
you will work closely with other musicians & artists, and in turn, form invaluable industry contacts and friendships that will benefit the local music scene & arts community as well as your own endeavors.
you will be invited to RTM Co-op Meetings where we will discuss upcoming Shows & Events, as well as help organize any assistance that fellow Co-op Members may require for their own projects (ex: "Band #1 may be in need of someone to sell CD's at their next gig in exchange for free drinks... anyone interested? Band #2 needs someone to design album covers in return for compensation.... any artist interested?").
Release The Monkey will host numerous parties during the year for Co-op Members, Volunteers, and their guests. You can't pass up a free party, now can you?
teach or assist with local workshops on your specific skill or talent.
co-op members will be notified as soon as we find out about any open shows or work opportunities.
all co-op members will have thier own page on ReleaseTheMonkey.com for them to promote their music, bands, art, services, or shows.
we'll give you free cookies. We're not above bribery.
What is asked of Co-op Members:
attend as many of the Co-op Meetings as possible (scheduling will be flexible to accommodate members' schedules).
actively collaborate and assist in RTM Shows & Events (including the planning, promoting, performing, and working of these events). All Co-op Members who work a Shows or Event will be compensated according to that event's profits; in other words, if we get paid, you will get paid.
teach or assist with at least one RTM Workshop per year. If you are experienced at Celtic folk music, teach a workshop on it. If you are good at silk-screening, teach a workshop in that. These workshops will be planned and scheduled well in advance, and you will be compensated according to workshop attendance (a small fee will be charged to attend your workshop, and you will keep profits).
be open to helping your fellow Co-op Members and local community (this sounds cheesy, but we mean it.)
